Herefords

The Smithston Hereford stud was originally founded in Patna, Ayrshire, in south west Scotland and was relocated by stud principals, Bill, Irene, Dugald and Eunice McIndoe to Australian in 1989. With them they brought some of their top Hereford genetics in the form of frozen embryos and semen.

Smithston genetics have been sold all over the world, including, France, Denmark, Zimbabwe, South Africa, New Zealand and Canada.

They have also taken out many broad ribbons in the show ring, both in Australia and the UK.  Smithston Lady Lynda was the Supreme Champion at the English Royal Show and many of her decedents are present in the herd today along with many Champions from the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Royal Shows.

Smithston have achieved some great prices over the years, including Smithston Tam O Shanter who sold for $75,000, and Smithston You Beaut who sold for $47,500.
